NASA's James Webb Space Telescope may have found signs of life on a distant planet. The telescope detected unusual chemical signatures in the atmosphere of TRAPPIST-1e. This Earth-sized planet orbits a star 40 light-years away. The chemicals include molecules that on Earth are produced by living organisms. Scientists caution that more observations are needed to confirm the findings. If verified, this would be the first evidence of life beyond our solar system. The TRAPPIST-1 system contains seven planets, three of which are in the habitable zone. Researchers will continue to study these worlds for signs of biological activity. The discovery was announced at a NASA press conference.
