Tight races in the American League

The Houston Astros hold a narrow lead over the Texas Rangers in the AL West, with both teams hovering around .500.
In the AL East, the New York Yankees have closed the gap on the first-place Tampa Bay Rays. The two clubs meet in a series that begins on September 22. The Rays, Yankees and Red Sox all have playoff odds of 99% or better, and Tampa Bay has already clinched a postseason berth.
National League picture
