Next steps for clinical research

The team plans a longitudinal study tracking cerebellar changes over 10 years to establish whether stimulating this region through targeted motor training could slow cognitive decline. If confirmed, the research could lead to simple interventions—such as balance exercises or coordination games—that maintain both motor skills and mental sharpness in older populations. A clinical trial is expected to begin enrollment later this year.
